We have 4 10 year old CRT Monitors. One of them only works like 75% of the time, the others are fine.

Are there any use for these at all? Should I do something fun with them or just trash them?

For the non-working one(s):

Boring answer - recycle them
Fun answer - drop them off a tall building, blow them up, set fire to them or all of the above.

For the working one(s):

Boring answer - donate them to a worthy cause
Fun answer - play something hideous on them (like Justin Beiber) and then blow them up.

toss them out your window onto passing school children. how many monitors do you use now? not suggesting dual monitor for gaming with one crt but 2 monitors can really increase productivity if you have the space for another.

Tie them up and drag them behind your car during Christmas and voila!

If they display a decent resolution at a high refresh rate, they are actually worth something. If not, I would first try to list them on craigslist for $5 or $10 each. That would at least cover the cost of a new game.

I personally would take the dodgy one apart and see how it works.

Afterwards, put it back together and make it meet its demise

Well they can be used as monitors if they work...they just won't look as nice, strain your eyes more, take up the desk space of about 3 or 4 LCDs and use considerably more electricity than an LCD.

Other than that...take them to a recycling center or if you are a not so nice person you can find a dumpster, but since there is mercury in them you should really take it to a recycling center.

Wait, there is mercury in it? That sounds like a lot of fun. Anyway to extract it?

If they're high-quality CRTs, use them, or if you don't have the space, put them up for sale. There are a lot of people who will still gladly take a 21" CRT capable of high resolution off your hands for a few bucks.

Anything less than that should just be recycled.
