I am trying to update my bios on this new motherboard, and apparently the Asus EZ Update tool in the BIOS is not loading(its being ******ed)

I even try downloading Bupdater.exe (The Dos program to update the bios) I used a USB Stick to bootup and enter in the commands_

Bupdater.exe /i [/o] [/pc] [/g]

and it says file not found? WTH!! (Just a note, I renamed the bios file to update.rom so I know forsure what I typed up there is correct.)

I even tried AFUDOS with these commands

AFUDOS update.rom /P /B /N /C and yet it tells me this Bios does not support AFUDOS

WTH!! what program would work to flash this bios?

I'm using the USB Flash method as I've always used with my previous Asus motherboard_

I usually just use the Asus EZ Flash Utility in the bios menu(But oddly this utility isn't working, it just simply won't load, it says Do you want to start Asus EZ Flash? I say Yes.. and it does nothing)

I put the new Bios file I downloaded from the Asus support webpage and renamed it to Update.rom and put it on the flash drive thinking I could just use the Asus EZ Flash Utility but its not working so I reformated the USB Stick with HP USB Storage Format Tool to create a bootable USB Flash drive using Windows 98 Bootup files_

I then decided to download BUPDATER.exe(As the Asus website provides this tool for Dos Flashing) and I tried the commands it provided me with and yet that doesn't work, then I tried AFUDOS and that doesnt work_

Now I'm looking for something else(If all fails! I am gonna risk it and try updating it through Windows, which I would hate to do)

I did the same thing with my computer. But it worked. I've only flashed a mobo once, and that was the EZ flash. Just downloaded, put on the drive, put it in the mobo, booted up EZ flash, and it found a bios on my flash drive, the one I put on. Then I hit flash an in under a minute it was done.

Plug in your drive before/after you turn on your computer. Try it with both.

It is under the utilities section!

This is used right in windows and I have used it to update my sig bios multiple times through multiple formats, never had a problem. It flashes, reboots and all is good.
It works, finally got it to update, now Asus EZ Flash is working properly as it should also_ (Old bios must've been a bit corrupted or something to not allow Asus EZ Flash to work, but now it all works)

Thanks =]

I recently flashed my bios.

I came into this problem. Pressing ALT + F2 wasn't working neither was the shortcut in bios, tried a few things, until I unlugged all my usb devices, for some reason and this happened before my external 1tb WD drive causes me problems on boot, slow bios etc. Try that anyway.

Thats a good suggestion, Thank you, although after all the wire management I just completed I would hate to disconnect anything lol, eventually I end up having to do it through Asus Update Utility and it worked just fine, although not usually a risk I like to take flashing through windows, but in the end I had no choice
