hi, i am wondering how low the idle voltage of my 3770k should be. its manually set at 1.2 (i believe) volts and its at 1.168 - 1.192 average.

how do i make the idle go lower without increasing the max voltage because at stock (with turbo boost)i was hitting 75C load, then i set voltage to manual at 1.2 and the temps dropped 10C and i dont want them to go back up to 75 without more OCing

It also seems to spike up to its max speed occasionally (not sure if from normal usage) and run in the mid to high 40's for a few seconds on its hottest core

thanks

P.S. im using an asus p8z77-v le plus and i hyper 212 evo

if you set voltage to manual it will not decrease voltage, if there is a fluctuation it is because off LLC(load line calibration). so changing that will affect idle and load voltages. Also why not use offset voltage so idle vcore and freq. drop too. Secondly 1.22v is kinda high for a 4.2ghz overclock at 4.2 I would expect more like 1.16v
