8800GTS is better

order (usually) is:
Ultra > GTX > GTS > GT > GS

The GTS is a little better than the GT.

Edit. Is the GTS a G92 chip? If it is then it is better.

The 8800Gt 512mb without doubt, it is based on a better revision of the g90 and has a wider memory bus and overall technical features

Noooooooooooo!

The 8800GT is better! The 8800GTS 320MB is based on the older G80 core, the 8800GT is the superior card in every way!

It has less stream processors (The GTS 320MB), and slower clock speeds, but it does have a slightly larger memory bus of 320 bit vs. 256 bit on the 8800GT.

it (GT) has better features + less heat etc - but lacks in raw horsepower
(i think)

I can not agree with you here:
Anand link
The 8800GT is a better card in every way. It has more memory, is faster, and uses less electricity. G92 was the pinnacle of Nvidia's engineering

Naw.

G92 > G80

The 8800GT will shine at higher resolutions for sure over the 8800GTS 320.

I was wrong on the memory width, but you can clearly see the 8800GT 512 is better than a 8800GTS 320mb.

Having owned 2x 640MB G80 8800GTS's and now temporarily being on the 512MB G92 8800GT I can confidently say that the advice you have gotten of the GT being better is 100% true. They also released a 512MB GTS based on the G92 core that is better yet.

This! If it was an 8800GTS 512MB (G92-based) then it would be a different story. The 8800GTS 320MB is a G80 card, and the 8800GT (also G92-based) outperforms it dead-out.

Thanks everyone +REP
With out a doubt the 8800GT 512 beats the 8800GTS 320.
