Whats a good i7 MB

I am wanting to get a i7 MB, was going to get a Evga so I can step up to the classifed, but I am not sure after the tax return I am using to get a new system that I will be able to do that. So what is another good/great i7 MB that is close to what the classifed is, I like a MB That is good at OCing the i7. And if its evgas i7 so be it. Also what ram would u suggest. I was think earlier i was going to order a evga A1 and was told Muskin, but after thinking about finance I figure I will have 1 shot at this and unless Newegg puts the classifed up by thurs (or its to high in price) then I better have a back up. Thank you for your info and time.

How about the P6T or Rampage II from ASUS? Great boards that OCs well..

As for RAM, OCZ Gold or Platinum for sure - the Platinums are great, only linked some versions of them there. The Golds also get's the work done.
also going to be need to order from Newegg.
ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution is this worth it or is the extreme II better?
OCing capability is generally much more dependant on the CPU than the the motherboard with the i7.

There really aren't that many truly bad i7 boards out at the moment.
and is OCZ better or the same as the Muskin?
Between the P6T6 and the Rampage I'd say it depends on the usage. P6T6 itself is defenitly worth it imo. As for between then, if your also going to do some medium and heavy desktop tasts along with wanting to add some few HDDs and disk drives, P6T6 is definitly the way to go - if it's mostly for gaming I'd say the Rampage, especially if price is a factor - if not, P6T6 either way.

As for OCZ vs. Muskin I'd say OCZ. They have great products, never hade one single issue with anything from they - products that preforms really well compared to prices.

Anyhow, from first hand experiance with the P6T6 it's a really sweet and smooth board. I love it!
Mushkin is nice, but I prefer OCZ. I have the Platinum 1600 and it overclocks like nothing and timings are awesome too. 7-7-7-24 with 4.0 Overclock with memory running at 1603 Mhz (1.66 Volts)
OK now lets say it up against the Egva A1 and the P6t6 which way would you suggest? I havent used a Asus in years, and I mean years so I am not to up to date with theyre stuff.
For i7, pretty much all the boards are the same, and will overclock the same. I think that you should just buy the boards for the features that you want (also make sure you like the spacing of the PCIe slots).
Rampage II and P6T6 are only worth it if you plan on running three video cards that are full size. The heat and price vs performance is not worth it, dual cards are the sweet spot right now and should stay that way for a while.

The Classified is too expensive and overrated: think EVGA could have at least included a sound card or something for that price. Performance wise some of the $300.00 boards are walking on it (even if they were identical, for near $500.00 it should absolutely destroy anything!). It may overclock better than most, but you will need some truly expensive cooling equipment to get temps down, driving the crazy price even more through the roof!

Asus P6T Deluxe, Gigabyte UD5, and Foxconn Bloodrage for double SLI or Crossfire. P6T6 or Rampage II if you plan on running 3 full size cards in TRI SLI or CrossfireX. EVGA has mounting issues with certain heat sinks, not a lot of fan connectors, plus it doesn't come with much. I was looking at it myself, but went with Asus and completely happy.

Asus you cannot go wrong with, I absolutely love my P6T Deluxe! It overclocks really well and has a ton of features so you actually feel like your money was well spent.

Asus has tons of ports, more than most. I may be wrong, but I think Gigabyte and Asus (all X58 boards) have the most ports. All X58 boards have a pretty generous helping of SATA ports. Be careful though, if you want to run IDE drives not all have the controller built in anymore, the Rampage II does away with anything legacy.

The P6T Deluxe also has a SAS controller (serial attached storage) which is useful if you want raw speed and increased lifespan as SAS drives exceed at both.

For your use, no use on spending a ton of money on a motherboard as most of the features of the $380.00 or more are intended for extreme overclockers and gamers.

im basically just looking to put probably 4 HDDs and 3 Burners to it and OC it up to my best abilities with a Lapped TRUE...i was with the gigabyte but im hoping to hear more from anyone who could help me with this
I am planning on 4 drives in raid 0 and a larger slower drive dor back up (still trying to deside on this) so I guess it would be raid 0 +1 or something so thats 5 drives plus a a drive so i can get raid drivers on, but it can be unpluged when not using it, and 2 roms. so, I need a few sata plugs, one of the reason I am looking at the evga. but is I lose the raid 1 then I would only need 6. if i run raid 0 is it really worth having a raid 1 too. I mean I dont have a back up now. And I am doing fine. And also I am going to use the air cooling that I have on this rig for the time being until I can order a TRUE.Was thinking of going tri sli, but if there isnt any real performance increase, and sli is the sweet spot, because I am going 285x2 (or 3 depend on if there is enough performance to justify it). so with all that in mind is there a board that stands out.

yea im probably in same boat as you 4 in raid 0 3 drive bays and a OC thats really all im looking for ill probably buy the same board as you even tho im not really a gamer at all
Yeah I building this for my Ultimate Gaming machine. And this one will have to last me for a few years like 4 ro 5 I hope. So i am trying to squeeze everything into that I want and may need for the upcoming years.
