Hi everyone. I've just removed the hsf from my pc. It seems that the stock Heatsink has some kind of orange/copper cylinder in the center.

Any ideas what that is?
And is it safe to clean it?

That would just be the copper core of the Intel stock HSF. It is safe to clean it so go right ahead.

Copper is just a better heat conductor than aluminum is so they just put that there to dispate heat easier.
