Ok so im having an extemely hard time finding a 92mm Cpu fan...just the fan. Im currently trying to get ahold of Tjharlow from NY if any of you know him.
What is the Difference between a Case Cooling fan and a Cpu cooling fan other than 12v 0.16 amp Case fan and 12v 0.30amp/12v 0.60amps? I know there are diff Rpm speeds also.
What if one was to match a 12v 0.60 amp Cpu fan with a 12v 0.60 amp case fan both with a max of 2800 Rpms?

You can put any 92mm case fan onto the HSF.
Voltage and Amps don't matter.

What you are looking for is Static Pressure, either H2Omm or Pa.

I would suggest your best option being a Scythe Gentle Typhoon or a Vantec Tornado (Massive CFM/Static Pressure, but very very loud.)
A fan's a fan for the most part. Just buy any 92mm fan and stick it on there. The only thing other than it being 92mm in diameter that may matter is its thickness.
Now how do i tell if these case fans have a standard 3 pin connection? I dont want a 4 pin connection and i dont want a fan that has speed control on it. Just a stock fan controlled by the bios.

They usually list in the specs page on the product page.

The FM91's & GT-14's listed earlier are both great fans for a heatsink or case and have standard 3 pin connections.

Ok, one last question Tator tot. Why was my other 92mm fan which was 4 pin black, red, yello, blue combo not working on my 3 pin board? It would spin for about 5 sec on boot up and then shut down? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...867529&lang=en

Which fan was it?

Either your board has an issue with PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) fans, or the fan was too powerful for your board.

It was probably an incompatibility with the board and PWM though.

Sorry dont have a pic of the Fan. Its just a stock Peice of crap. Im also assuming its just a compatibility issue with my board and the fact that i have an Hp Computer.
