Out of the choices in the poll I set up, what cards would be the best bet? Got the parts for the little brother's build, but I need to find a suitable GPU for him.

A HD5770 should do perfectly fine, anything more is slightly overkill.

No GTX 580 choice? Hm. I'd say a 5770 or 9800x2 if i had to choose one on the poll.

I suppose of the cards you've listed the 460 would be the best option, the GX2 is overkill, the 9800GT/4770 you won't be happy with, and the G80 8800GTS is quite a few generations behind.

If anything I'd go with Other and get a GTS450/HD5770, but if you already own the cards in the poll I'd go with the GTX460.

The 460 listed and the GX2 are on par actually. the the GTX 460 is extremely powerful for that resolution, and kind of a waste, while the GX2 sucks power like a fat kid eats cake. XD

I'm talking in terms of power requirements/draw and size in general.

People tend not to consider them.

Although if you're not bothered it sounds as though you've made your mind up already.

460 all the way. You can still push AA and DX11 comfortably at that resolution. The 4770/9800GT would do well as well, but if you already have the cards, go with the newest.
