It's only a $40-$60 increase. Plus Intel don't care if you're not paying that, everyone else will. What are your other options? Plus could be something to do with low stocks over the Christmas period.

If you think that's bad you should try buying CPUs in Canada. Socket 1150 i3's are $200.
