Hey guys,

After that whole 7950 vs 660ti shuffle AMD acknowledged that it's drivers had latency issues and promised a fix by the end of this month. Any one have any new on when we can expect that? I know about the 13.2 betas but those only fix 3 games, i'm waiting for the driver that fixes the memory management or whatever causes that stutter to fix alot more!

But AMD has been very quiet about new drivers lately, so what's the deal?

Probably next month after this beta. But either way i havent experienced any stutter with cf 7970's. Maybe at skyrim a bit but radeon pro can fix it.

yeah AMD will probably have a new crysis 3 beta driver for launch day tomorrow. after that maybe early next month we can expect to see the new memory manager in a beta driver. i think AMD's next WHQL driver will mostly include the new memory manager and will be a 13.4 WHQL.

Farcry 3 was smooth on my HD 6950. though i turned off MSAA at 1080p as i wanted to get close to 50 fps.. i ran Ultra, Enhanced A2C, HDAO.

Download this. Create a profile for your game. Disable the in-game vsync and force dynamic vsync with radeon pro
Doesn't that still cause input lag?
No. It turns on triple buffer which eliminates input lag. Its very good. Also Dynamic Vsync only turns on Vsync when the framerate exceeds the refresh rate.

Triple buffering means that an extra frame is buffered, which means you get exactly one frame more lag.

What you're describing is render ahead that is inappropriately called triple buffering

Triple buffer as originally specified is supposed to have two back buffers that can be alternated to reduce any waiting periods (latency).

Nearly all of the stutter a Radeon gets can be allieviated via Dynamic Vsync and a few other features in RadeonPro.

Sadly, I think the problem has a lot to do with FC3 as some nVidia users even get stuttery gameplay.

FC3 is a problem from the developers. They are lazy enough to patch the game. The problem with the stuttering is that the game try to load the whole texture from all the islands all together. Its the same like fc2.

Bah

It's entirely different game play experience between my cfx and sli set ups.
CFX is nauseating in DX11 mode, totally unplayable.

^-this

i continually get into pointless arguments with morons who don't know what the hell frame buffering is...

there is a huge difference between Render Ahead and Tipple Buffering....

although to make matters worse, the idiotic developers sometimes institute a render ahead buffer, and call it tipple buffering...

it really chaps my ass...

Catalyst control center does not work for me on any of the 13.2 BETA drivers... anyone have any idea what's going on? 13.1 works fine. Also GPU-z is spitting some warning about not detecting OpenGL well or something at me everytime i open it.
