I am trying to find out where to buy the beyerdynamics bt770 80 Ohm version and the beyer website is no help at all.

Musicians Friend website has a one month wait.

Amazon.com says "250 ohm" on all of em they have for sell.

And the local guitar center claimed to have a pair but, when I went in to test em out they were "out for repair" and said if I wanted to order a pair it would be 4 or 5 days before they got more.

Not entirely sure where to find these. any pro tips out there? I want the best deal possible <200$... and from a reputable dealer..

Since apparently there is only one authorized reseller which doesn't even sell them according to beyerdynamics website.

I'm not a personal fan of the DT770's tbh for most purposes. what your budget and music taste?

I am looking for an "all around" set of headphones.

My budget is 200$

I listen to disturbed, cradle of filth, rammstein, and bands along those lines mostly.

I hesitate to try and give them genre's since everyone and their grandmother will argue over what each genre consist of..

I will also be using any given headset for gaming so a good sound stage and positional accuracy is also important.

That about covers my needs, and I am open to most suggestions.

At anyrate I noticed buy.com has them in stock even if they aren't an authorized reseller.. (which beyerdynamic doesn't seem to have many of..)

Although I am hoping they won't be too ****y with the bass.. (When I went into guitar center the guy said it was like listening to a subwoofer in your car... so although I didn't get to test them, I left with this image of horrible reverberation)

So.. now I am just lost..

Also had the sennheiser 595's recommended.. may jump on them since amazon.com does have a few authorized resellers selling em.. although some say they are a bit bass weak..

And unfortunately for me.. guitarcenter is the only local place I have to test out.. and their current track record is "we don't have it" for anything I want to see..

If you like bass, dt770's are pretty good. They have good isolation, which means you'll lose some soundstage, but I find that it's still decent in BFBC2 and Blops for positional accuracy and footsteps. I bought my dt770's from the link I gave you, and they've been nothing but wonderful.

If you want good soundstage, go with the AD700's. Open backed, very comfortable, and excellent soundstage. Also cheaper than the DT770's by a bit.

I have been trying to find the right balance and so far the bt770's seem to be the best fit.

For whatever it is worth I like bass but, I don't like it over emphasized.

I love quite a few songs which are bass heavy and I want the bass portrayed well but, I don't want anything extra "added to it" if I am making any sense.

I know a lot of people have a "never enough" approach.. I am personally pretty content with an accurate representation of what exist in the song.

Also, I've read that they have a somewhat smaller soundstage than ad700s but, godly positional accuracy.

I think I can settle on that so long as they don't over bass my songs.

So you got them from ansy shop?

I guess tomorrow I may go ahead and order from there although, I am waiting on chinesekiwi to see if perhaps s/he has a recommendation.. Seen 'em around OCN quite a bit and head-fi so maybe I can get one more good suggestion before going through with my decision.
