I'll most likely opt for a 780/790 next gen and I'm wondering where and how you sell your old GPUs. It would be my first time selling any part like this. Note: I don't have enough rep for the OC.net marketplace so that's out. So what other places do people sell their parts? And how would I go about doing it? The packaging process, rather than the shipping out. What do you personally do to make sure your GPU makes the trip safe. Do you just buy an anti static bag, put it in, put bubblewrap or whatever it's called all around some random box so it doesn't move and ship it out?

Ah I hadn't thought about ebay. I just assumed you would need an astronomical amount of positive rep for someone to even consider buying from you.

I've sold my past 2 video cards here on OCN with zero issues, and you don't have to pay fees.

yep dont forget the eBay fees tho with a good discription and pics eBay you should be fine. depends where you are you could also try selling locally such as Craigslist. try and help more a get enough rep to sell on the OCN market place by the time the cards release.

original boxes with anti static bag is the best way to ship. maybe in a bubble wrap bag or another box as well.

OCN Marketplace would be ideal. It's not a matter of me not wanting to help or anything, but pretty much everybody knows more than me lol so I really don't have anything to contribute

Try finding some sales and post them in the Online Deals section. People usually give rep for finding good deals

you could even look through and keep and eye on the wanted (WTB) ads and see if anyone is wanting to buy your cards and PM them.. if someone places a WTB classified, i dont think you need 35rep to sell them your card/s but maybe someone can confirm that.

You could sell it to someone you know if they are looking for an upgrade. Sold my gtx560 ti to my brother's friend almost a year ago when I got my gtx670. Made a little dent in the cost of the upgrade but oh well.

Absolutely correct, the 35 rep requirement is for actively advertising your items (whether for sale or wanted).

If someone has a for sale listing, you can buy from them.
If someone has a wanted listing you can sell to them.

Provided all other FS/wanted section rules are followed.

I usually sell stuff here,on another forum and eBay. With eBay I tend to raise the prices a bit to cover the costs/fees but sometimes I get annoying and unreasonable buyers who would dispute the sale for no reason. Craigslist is ok but I don't sell anything very expensive there.

For packaging, I put the card in anti-static bag then sandwich it between 2 hard boards (you could strip those packaging boxes), then tape it tightly on the edges so the card won't wiggle between the boards. I then wrap it in bubble wrap if I have any spare. For shipping (US), if the whole package will fit, I send it via padded flat rate envelope (only $6 and priority shipping!). If it won't fit, then a flat rate medium box which costs I think $10.
