i got the dvd through the cpp(customer preview program) from microsoft. so im assuming that since it came from microsoft they would have already installed the drivers for those three items.

Windows Vista x64 has *extremely* limited driver support. You're going to have to deal with it for awhile. Try Vista x86, which seems to have better driver support, and some XP drivers work on it, which increases your chances.

Drivers for networking devices and card readers are frequently not supported in 64 bit architecture (Vista x64 is pretty, but it's not much fun without network access or audio).
And it gets worse with vista....In Vista x64, any driver that is not properly signed will not be able to enter the kernel and will fail to load.
In other words, if your driver has not been blessed by Microsoft, it will not work. Forget about it.

Regards.....

Vista

1.a view or prospect, esp. one seen through a long, narrow avenue or passage, as between rows of trees or houses.
2.such an avenue or passage, esp. when formally planned.
3.a far-reaching mental view: vistas of the future.

Why does it seem that driver issue is well represented by the difinative of the word "vista" in that the support is a far-reaching mental view of a formally planned narrow avenue for driver support

Good lick on the drivers! With all this going on there should be a Vista Section!
