Where to find Shamino's guides?

2875 Views 18 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  shurik06_83
I have looked and looked to no avail for Shamino's phase change guides on VR; whenever I click on a link to one of then, it always takes me to the homepage. Does anyone have copies of them or know other boards/sites where they are posted?

I found this, but unfortunately I don't know anything about it so I don't know if it's exactly what we're looking for:

Is this it? It's a sticky'd thread of Shamino's.

Is there a possibility that special permission is required?

Even though I asked that question, it does feel like it just doesn't exist when I click on it based on the way I'm re-directed.

Ya, I feel like they updated the BBS code and it changed the links or these guides are too old and the forum does not archive.

Why are you asking on OCN? Just ask on their site.

I agree though. Every time i see a link to vr-zone i know that its only going to send me to their homepage.

Then this means you need to be a registered member with an activated account and also logged in to their message board.

Found some of them:

Phase Change Basics 1 - Using The Tools
http://vr-zone.com/articles/phase-ch...tools/713.html

Phase Change Basics 2 - Setting Up A System
http://vr-zone.com/articles/phase-ch...ystem/714.html

Had to search for "Shamino" on the main vr-zone.com page to find his articles. Should note though that the pictures don't work. These articles are almost 6 years old.

his guide is nothing special u can hit the web and some words like phase change can find u alot more in depth guids from this site and other like this one
Yeah I've found plenty of others, I've just always been frustrated by those guides. I think I might try building a single stage sometime soon.
building is not so easy well actualy puting a flame to things and brazeing them together is easy a chimp can do it

but the tools almost no one ever wants vac and fill the unit so u will have to do it ur self

to vac u will need a vacuume pump chepest one i found was $80
to fill u wil need gages and a manifold around $30 and up

then the parts atleast 1 schrader valve one filter with a valve on it =$20
condensser =$60

compressor can be pulled from a mini fridge that one can find in the wanted adds for under $50

copper coile =$20 no water line specila stuff

staineless low preshure flex line a trip to home depot it will be in the gas aplice section but u want staineless not aluminum so make shure its staineless so u can braze to it =$30-40

the on die evap u can buy a chilly wich works grate but just the chilly not asembeld yet will set u back around $50 then u ned the rest of the suff to mount in

or u can build ur own but thier is no telling how much thatwill cost u in the end and how much time it will take or u can

buy one of thease that comes will al the clips and crap u just braze in ur low and cap tube and ur set

then the fill gas if u dont have a special paper saying u can buy fill gas then ur stuck useing auto R134a , or R290

so if u have alot of time and want to give it a go why not but it will cost u almost the same to buy one alredy made

Haha don't worry I know what I'm getting into... I'm not one of the countless first posters asking how to build a unit. I not only have experience with phase, brazing, etc, I have both Gomeler and Sdumper near me who I could learn from/borrow tools.
then what are u waiteing for pick up that torch
