Whhaaaaaaaaa..!? [Prime95 freezing @ default clocks!?]

I'm worried now.... I begin OC'ing my CPU in steps and testing with Prime95, but after just one second, it freezes... I eventually try bringing it down to the point where everything is running on default clocks
Default clocks as in:
CPU: 200x17 (3.4ghz)
Memory: 200x8 (1600mhz)
memory volts: 1.95
CPU-NB VID volts: 1.3
Everything else default
...and I still freeze...
Could this be my RAM? I get the same results whether at 1.9 or 1.95 and I've been increasing the CPU-NB VID volts like crazy...
I don't get this freezing problem running a Sony Vegas render, which stresses [100% everything] the CPU in the same way as Prime95...weird
I'm running Large FFT test on Prime95 when it does this.
Temperatures aren't a big concern, I'm backed by the new Dark Knight cooler.
Any hints?

try lowering your RAM multiplier for a test and see if that helps, i've heard of issues at 1600mhzm but im not 100% sure

Hm, I'll try that...
However, there was a BIOS setting [can't remember what it was called] that let you set a latency (I have it at 90ns, but before I moved my RAM to the other slots it was at 110ns)... I'll take that up to 110 from 90 and see if it's stable, and if not downclock the RAM...
Descriptive title please.
@Cerberus: Done
@Fear of Oneself: WOW... not only am I able to actually run Prime95, but my system boots up faster!
RAM is set at 1333mhz 6-6-6-18 [which this RAM is also rated to run, alternatively from 1600]. The only downside I know to running RAM at this speed is that video encoding (which I do a lot) will slow down, but if I'm stable I guess I'm fine with that. Thanks ~ +1

IMC on your CPU might limit the RAM speed to 1333 even though the RAM that you bought is rated at 1600

If you want to run at 1600. Oc the memory to 1600 be the FSB. Some memory are 1333 that is oc to 1600. So set memory at 1333 at 8-8-8-24 and 1.8V - 1.9V then chance the FSB to hit 1600.

Sometimes, as in my case, messing with the FSB causing some system instability. I know this sounds random, but keep your RAM at 1600 and change the timing to 2T. My GEIL memory liked that a lot before I changed over to G-Skill.

My FSB is at 217 and I'm stable...

RAM is running 1447mhz 6-6-6-18 2T, working fine
