Recently my onboard realtek ac'97 has stopped working in my left speaker, and it is annoying to listen to music through one speaker. So I'm deciding to purchase a really, really, really cheap sound card to replace my corrupt onboard audio chip.

Here are my options:

CHAINTECH AV-512 Sound Card:

Price: $9.99

AOpen Cobra AW840 Sound Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829117104
Price: $7.75

SABRENT SBT-SP6C Sound Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829130001
Price: $7.49

I'm not looking for a sound card to blow my brains out, lol. I just want a sound card that will perform at or atleast as good on my onboard audio did.

Thanks.

Get the Sabrent

it has 5.1 capability and some good reviews, but I'm not sure it will be as nice as your onboard sound. If you can spend $20 then get this, it will probably perform at least as good as your onboard sound.

Or, if it's possible you spend $32
then you can get the Soundblaster Live 24 bit, which will be better than your onboard sound.

Hmm I might consider the CHAINTECH AV-710 Sound Card for $23...

So,

CHAINTECH AV-512: 1

AOpen Cobra AW840: 0

SABRENT SBT-SP6C: 1

First one to 3 and I probably will buy thanks guys, reps given.

Well yeah, of course the more expensive the better quality lol, buy the av-710. But likewise, I would spend an extra 7 bucks and get the Sound Blaster Live, which I can say is a lot better than onboard (i own one myself).

Yeah, I would have to agree on getting the Live, but spending $23 is already more than doubling what he wants to spend, let alone $32.
