it's pointless to go for an fx if you don't plan to crossfire the highest end of cards (X2) since the only advantage of an fx is the 16x in xfire mode, unlike the gx w/c is 8x. but since it's pcie 2.0 there won't be any difference since the bandwith of gpus haven't even exceeded pcie 1.1's limits.
there's also a 790x version w/c is the same as the 790gx but doesn't have the igp. but since you won't be using it, the 790x is more practical.
