I'm about to upgrade from a 9600XT and it's only a month old. (Bought in early December) I'll sell it to you for a little less than your looking to spend if you want to email me. (I don't want to turn it into a selling forum but I'm gonna put it on ebay anyway so why not give it to one of our own) It plays Half-Life 2 at 1024x768 at medium great. I can also run UT2004 at 1280x1024 at medium settings getting 45 and 60 fps. And 1024x768 at high settings getting around 50-65f fps. It's a solid card for people who don't have a $250 and higher budget to spend on a graphics card (which puts me firmly in that category). I wouldn't be upgrading if a friend wasn't selling me his 9800pro for dirt cheap.

and once you have that 9600XT, OC the crap out of it and itll rock
i have an FX5700U I OCd to 600\\965 and that puppy even plays painkiller maxed details 1024*768 2xAA 4xAF, not bad i dont think, and imo the 9600XT is a better card than the 57U
