Which CPU block for a S478?

I recently picked up a WC system that includes a TDX block that's not currently compatible with my system. I could replace the top plate on that with one that works for S478 or sell it and get a new block. A bit of research on eBay leads me to believe I can around $30 for the TDX, which is reflected in the prices in the poll. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck; 1-2°C isn't much motivation for me to spend a bunch of additional money.

One nice thing about the Swittech blocks is that they're universally compatible at least with the common sockets today, so if I upgrade to a 775 in the future, I won't have to invest any more money in the block.

Please vote and share your opinions on the best way to go. Thanks!

If it was me I'd be changing the plate to suit with brass, I had a previous melt down of a non steel\\copper block- using a pelt so it would be better I think for the future for it will last forever to go heavy duty, it is only 5 bucks more afterall. The TDX block seems to do a very good job so just mod it to suit
Selling things just will be more of a hassle too I think.

the TDX is a good block so just modify it and put the copper ontop for the durability factor and i personally think it looks better....no sence in buying a whole new block if you dont really care about 2 degrese.

Agreed
I didn't think the Storm block was going to cost you that much... Stay away from the lucite block, easy cracker..

Thanks for the input so far. Any other thoughts?
I like the apogee cause if you ever need to upgrade your covered and its a really good price. Also, it cools whithin a degree of the storm. Gets my vote

Storm

I got really nice temps on my S487 with it, the mounting is a bit different, but much more secure. Overall I think it's a much better buy than the others, and all you need is another mounting plate to go to, say, AM2. Voyeurmods.com has plates for the Storm, and when AM2 is released, they will have an adapter plate for it.

Storm is a great block but spending 60 vs. 25 for an extra 1 degree isn't worth it imo.
