I have a 790i digital board I was wondering if 4 gb at 2000mhz or 8 gb at 1600 mhz of ddr3 memory was better I think that 8 gb will be better in the long run whats your opinion?

Mostly yes, though it really comes down to each application individually for rendering.
4gb for benching, 8gb for everything else. Basically, get the 8gb kit.
8 gigs is overkill at the moment i think. You're better off buying 4 gigs of fast ddr3 now, and in the future, when you'll need it, it will be much cheaper
