Which MB allows 21x CPU multiplier to be manually set?

In other words, which MB will run the i7 920's 4 cores at 21x all the time without Turbo throttling?

Thanks,

that's what the EEs are for...
Pretty sure Bloodrage does.

Here from their bios updates: http://www.foxconnsupport.com/downlo...rds=&sort=BIOS

I would guess Asus, I know that their 1156 boards are some of the only ones that allow 21x multi...

Gigabyte boards go into "permanent" turbo, i.e. 21x multi if you disable c1e and eist in the bios.

Except for Asus P6T series and Intel X58 boards, every other board out there doesn't do turbo throttling. It's an Intel spec that only Asus decided to follow for their P6T series. The Rampage series aren't affected. Asus's new P6X58D board supposedly doesn't have the turbo throttling problem, but I can't say for certain as I've never tried that board yet.

X58 LE runs perma-x21 by default.

MSI Eclipse SLI with bios 1.9 won't lock at 21x.

Thanks and +rep to all the useful replies!

@ LiNERROR - EEs?

@ Dopamin3 - Handsome board even with only 3 DIMM slots and a PITA with availability at the moment, but still a worthy contender.

@ iandh - Only looking at x58/1366 board for now. ;-)

@ error10 - Is this from a official BIOS update? Or cross-flash from something else? Could you please share your BIOS settings?

@ voklskier4452 & MyLeftNut - Is the P6T Deluxe V1 EoS/EoL, which is replaced by P6T Deluxe V2? I've read that people cross-flash v1 BIOS to P6T Deluxe V2. So it sounds like the V2 is not "officially" supported yet, unlike the Rampage series. Also looking into the P6TD Deluxe, but haven't heard much about it.

@ oxymorosis & justinjja - Awesome! This is exactly what I'm looking for! Permanent 21x/Turbo! Could you please share the BIOS settings for the respective board to accomplish this?

@ supaspoon - I posted over EVGA forum asking a similar question for the X58 3X SLI (E758-A1), but haven't gotten many confirmation. I also read the EVGA X58 Overclocking Guide and #5 mentions 21x only in "some cases". Could you please tell me how your board is setup in the BIOS for permanent 21x/Turbo?

Thanks!

Well, the LE is the e757. I don't have any experience w/ the other models, but there's nothing to setup really. If I recall correctly, you actually cannot run x20 on the board because of this. If you set 20, it will run 21 regardless. If you set 19, it will just run at 19. There may be a way to turn it off, however I never really looked into it as I've had no reason to.

I'm aware this thread is discussing 1366

My point was that the Asus boards are the only ones in the 1156 range that support a 21x multi stable, so the same could possible apply to the 1366 range. It's a bios thing from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Oops, no, I was at x21 due to being at stock!
OC'd, it's stuck at x20.
