This is probably a worn out question but I need help.

I have pretty much narrowed my choices down to this but I have a few questions.

I would like to use this to browse the web use a word processor and watch Dvd's and youtube but i keep getting mixed results on how well these tasks can be performed.
I plan on running a linux distro maybe Ubuntu netbook remix or Crunchbang and was also wondering about driver compatibility.

Thanks

I was also looking at netbooks and I found that Bing.com can show the cheapest netbooks but can also display some high performance once.

How do I get reps...........

That 10.5+ hour battery life claim is awesome.

Although IRL you will probably only see 8-9 hours of constant use, the purpose of a netbook is battery life, which you get in spades with the EEE.

with most Linux distros the Drivers are built into the operating system, and are installed when you install the OS, you only need to install graphics card drivers on some systems, but thats a easy process, how ever in the case of the netbook, graphics driver would be built into the netbook remix

defenetly the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA its freaking awsome and i love asus..!
I recently got this Eee 1005HA, upgraded to 2gb RAM, and a 30gb Vertex SSD.

It's running Windows 7 Pro atm, and connects to a wireless router.

On battery power, it boots from power off to the gmail login screen in 1 minute 17 seconds. That includes me typing in a windows password and manually clicking to open firefox and point it to a bookmark.

It hovers around 30% CPU usage playing an episode of Family Guy (1155kbps), and will go as high as 95% if I make the play/pause buttons fade in and out of Windows Media Player several times. The fade animation slows, while playback remains smooth. Opening task manager caused playback to stutter , but just for a moment.

The keyboard is almost full size. There is ~1cm difference between the spacing of 'Q' to 'P' keys on the Eee v. my desktop's keyboard.

Just picked up a 1005ha as well and I'm loving it. Only thing is they gave me Win7 Starter when I wanted Windows XP.
