Hey there.<br />
<br />
Which RAM would you recommend for overclocking the e6600 with the asus <br />
p5w deluxe? I need 2*1gb RAM ...<br />
<br />
I was looking at the <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227091" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227091</a> OR <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145033" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145033</a><br />
<br />
Maybe it would be better to go w/ ddr2 800 ? Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. Since I dont want to start another thread... I already have a 520W OCZ Powerstream PSU from my other PC that I can use. Do you think it would be sufficient or should i go w/ something like the OCZ 700w GameXStream ??

Thanks for your help.. I will most likely go for the Corsair XMS2 and keep the Powerstream <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />

</div>Do NOT get the XMS2, you would be paying more for same, or less if you end up the batch with Promos chips<br />
<br />
The Crucial sticks I posted use D9GMH chips while being $140 cheaper

If you're looking for the best DDR2 you can get for your Conroe system, it's this stuff:<a href="http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-3338-p-1692.html" target="_blank">http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-3338-p-1692.html</a><br />
<br />
For the best deal on good overclocking DDR2 for Conroe, I'm gonna agree with boredom. That Crucial Anniversary RAM is excellent, and has easily hit 1000+ MHz at good timings.

</div>Agreed, this stuff has hit some very impressive speeds. Close to ddr1100 with the right system.<br />
<br />
The ram Boredom recommended will be what im getting for my C2D setup.<br />
<br />
Either set will do just fine, although the Team chips will overclock better while providing a better stock rated speed.

That is a bit expensive for D9s. <br />
<br />
I'd recommend the G.Skill DDR2 800 HZ: <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231065" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065</a><br />
<br />
Or the Xtreem DDR2 800: <a href="http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-800mhz-p-1645.html?osCsid=f5d8004939518dcfa6dfd393392e13c3" target="_blank">http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-8...dfd393392e13c3</a><br />
<br />
Those two kits are very likely to hit DDR2 1100 speeds w/o a sweat and you save $133 which you could use to upgrade to something else. <br />
<br />
And yes, don't look at the Corsair XMS2, they're good and use D9s but they're way overpriced IMO.

All three highly recommended memory choices (xms, gskill, tank) are all about $300 for 2GB kit. XMS 2GB kit has a $40 rebate right now.

</div>The thing is that all the high end memory sticks have the exact same chips as the Crucial I posted while costing as much as $80 more

You aren't paying the extra $80 for nothing.

</div>It's the same D9GMH chips, Crucial could have attached a ddr2 -10000 tag and it would still OC the same as the ddr2 800 sticks

</div>You'll be more likely the hit ddr1000 with the Xtreem versus the former.<br />
<br />
Much harder for 667 to hit 1000 than 800 to hit 1000.

</div>A +3700 is a +3700, but not all will hit 3.0. There is a reason why chips are rated the way they are.<br />

If you can show me a link where the Crucial hit close to 1000 i'll be satisfied.
