Which Should I buy?

I'm about to depart with my current rig and start from scratch. The ONE concern that I have.. is that I haven't chosen what video card I should purchase...
Opinions please?
I'm partial to Nvidia....And the 8800 GT has served me well.
I'm a heavy Gamer.. and can't stand playing on less than the highest graphics settings possible. I know that the video card alone doesn't pull the weight.. but you get my point.
^_^ Anyone have any recommendations?

Just something that I would be extremely happy with that would fit in a $1000 Rig budget.

The overall cost of two 260's would be ultimately less than two 285's in the future.. However I suspect the 285's would outperform? ... Though is THAT much muscle REALLY needed?

By RETAIL price.. I was able to price a rig with specific things that I wanted for right at $700. Now I know the guys here have better things to offer with much better savings.. so I'll low ball my budget and estimate $350 on graphics.
