Yes. It's no different than any other revision. It's just got a 65nm CPU and GPU. If I were you I would just buy a brand new Arcade and make sure it's a Jasper. If you decide on a used console, be sure it is a Jasper.
Do not buy one on eBay that is back from Microsoft as it WILL NOT be a Jasper.
Does having a jasper model make that much of a difference? I was planning on modding the case and doing a custom cooling job anyway.
also, can I use an external usb drive that I have instead of a microsoft one? also can I play games that I have on there with xbox live?
Yes. It's not going to fail and if it ever did it won't be because of overheating. If you are interested in an Xbox there is no reason to not get a Jasper. Custom cooling is pointless since if it's not a Jasper it's going to fail again. It's not just about overheating it's the chips itself and the solder points. Getting custom cooling will hardly help. If you get a Jasper you have no risk in it failing because the CPU and GPU are extremely shrunk and are 65nm which means it's drastically improved in cooling and the way the chips are.
You can't use a USB drive as a drive for saving games and acting as a save device. You can plug one in to play music though. You can't do the same as a Microsoft HDD.
Seriously do not be dumb and make sure you get a Jasper. You can still mod it and put more cooling but I seriously wouldn't risk doing it to a console that isn't a Jasper since it'll eventually fail and then you would have voided the warranty.
