I just checked your team overtake page on EOC and saw this team that I have never heard of before with an average of over 10,000,000 ppd!!! I have stopped folding for a month due to heat so I have not been in the [email protected] section. Who are they and where are they from??

It's the Pande Research Group, the guys that pretty much run [email protected] They've been coming on strong for several days now.

Lol, Dr. Vijay Pande is the the project lead for the [email protected] client, and Pande Group. They contract GROMACS to create the folding cores, now.

Could be they're testing a lot of things with the new v7 client that's coming out "soon". I don't religiously follow all the goings on but that's probably a good guess.

Several large corporations donate the clusters, iirc.

They get their ppd from real corporate firepower

Yea, they had a huge spike a while back also when they were doing the -bigadv testing.
Sounds like a new client is close to release.

I doubt they'll be passing us (at least soon), they're turning out amazing PPD recently, but if you look at their history, they have some bursts like this and then the rest of the time their PPD is rather low

Not what I meant; most people install the clients then just watch OCN and EOC for stats.

So a team that comes out of nowhere like PG just did is always a worry.
