Well up until a few days ago it was still under speculation, until nvidia said it will come in 2 variants 100 and 200 (200 is better). IT is said to be one of highest performing AGP cards,no specs as of yet.

Me too... trying to decide between the 6800GS and the 7800GS for my step up. (I bought an eVGA 6600GT) It would cost me $115 to get the regular AGP 6800GS...

Well if you still have a few weeks on your stepup, id wait and see if the 7800gs reallyt comes early february. I couldnt unlock my 6800gs
the pixelpipes were defective.

Yeah, I just got my 6600GT a couple weeks agou. I think I've got until early April.

Even If I can't unlock the pipelines, it'll be better than my 6600GT... and it's still a hard decision (6800GS vs 7800GS) because it would mean delaying my CPU + Mobo upgrade even further. Being 15 sucks.

eVGA has what they call the "Step-up" program... if you buy an eVGA video card, you can buy another, more expensive one (within 90 days) for the price difference between the two cards. You have to buy it directly from eVGA, though, and their prices tend to be higher, but it's still a good deal.

Not true, all 6800GS AGP's unlock to 16/6 without probs with a 6800GT BIOS flash. I tried to unlock my GS running on a GS BIOS, and I got crazy artifacting at stock, flashed the BIOS to an eVGA 6800GT revsion 4.0 and no problems.
