That X1600Pro ahs HDMI output which can output sound... that got me thinking, why don't they have cards with video and sound? I don't think it would be terribly hard to add one or two chips and a few ports to a huge video card like they have today. Bandwidth certainly wouldn't be a problem... I think that would be awesome (And handy for a mATX case like mine
)

because sound cards are more complicated than just one or two extra chips.

i know... in the audio world a good "pre amp" costs about 8000$ is just as (if not more complicated than what is currently available in the computer market.

Also have to worry about EMI from the two processors, and as others have pointed out, sound processors, good ones at least, aren't just one or two extra chips, my Audigy is about as big as my 9700 Pro.

Soudns prolly just a little better than a 7.1 onboard soundchip.....not worth it....you get a videocard for video not sound/video.....just video

or why don't they make pci-e X1 cards? the only thing i know of that uses those is raid cards and my mobo already has one built in!
