Athlon 64 3500+ will be faster in playing games, hands down.

P4 3.2 Ghz will get pwned in playing games..... Ohhh... wait... is that Pentium 4 64-bit series? Then.... they would be about the same.

Maybe the 3500, depending on what p-4 it is.

Not only will the AMD 64 3500+ perform better in games it has a higher functional frequency. The 3500+ is 2.2GHz and it does 9 calculations per cycle, and the Intel 3.2 does 6 calculations per cycle.

2200MHz x 9 = 19800MHz / 6(Intel) = 3300MHz (3.3GHz)

Thought I would detail this just in case you did not know. Forgive me if I stated the obvious to you, but being a new member I thought you might not know.

DirectX 8 is also listed. About the only thing that P4s beat A64s is in video encoding. I am not sure about you but that little task only accounts for about 0.01% of my pc use whereas gaming is around 96%.

According to this chart, you should go with the 3400+ not the 3500+...
