WiFi drivers for gNewSense?

My friend downloaded gNewSense and put it on his laptop (HP pavilion dv1000) and he was wondering how to get wifi working on it. I'm not well versed in this area, so could someone give me the answer?

He should choose a different distribution, most likely.
