I got this card for free, and wondering if it would be good for this purpose. Mainly handling 720 and 1080 mkv files and blue ray discs.

It will be perfect for HTPC dutie, low powered but plenty of oomph, should even be able to play some older games on it if you ever endeavor to

It'll play Halo CE and older source games just fine.

It's a dell OEM low profile card with one of those weird ports that splits into 2 dvi's with a dongle. Not sure if it will transmit audio. Picking it up today.

Eh. Ended up not getting it anyway. It doesn't have HDMI and has no way to transmit audio through dvi. No spdif connector.

Not even sure if the tv accepts one. I'm going with a 6570 instead.
