Hey guys, i'm planning on getting a Msi HD 7950 OC BE for my computer, but my current processor is a Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 at 3.2Ghz.
Will my CPU bottleneck my gpu? (probs will) xD
But by how much? Will it render my card useless? do i expect 10/20/30etc. Percent drop in fps in comparison to it not being bottlenecked.

Yes, you will be heavily bottlenecked. You might be able to utilize half of the gpus total power

Yes, I was heavily CPU bottlenecked with E8400 @ 3.6GHz and a GTX 465

Like the others here said, you will definitely have a pretty bad bottle neck with that CPU. Sounds like you need to look into a new CPU before you try to upgrade your graphics situation.

even the core2quad cpus will bottleneck the HD7950 unless you can clock them above 3.5ghz.
You could spend some of your gpu budget for a cpu upgrade like a Q9650 then go for a slightly lower tier card like HD7850.
