440mm is definitely wrong.

i have a reference 6950 2gb in my case and it is tight fit. i have .25-.5 inch space in front of the card. but you need the extra space to even get it in there.

if the msi card is similar to the reference you are good to go. make sure the pcie cables are on the side of the card though.

440mm is when you remove to hdd cage.

Just remove the cage and install the hdd(s)/sdd(s) in the 5.25 bays. There you go, 440mm to play with and unobstructed airflow to your card.

i have 290mm and the card is 275mm, so im good to go? and idk how to remove the HDD cage. isnt that the cage the dvd drive is in etc? cuz i have my ssd/ hd under that.. and well removing that would do nothing seeing as the card is sitting above the cage the hard drives r in
