So I had the idea of building a computer a few days ago and now I'm pretty committed into it. I've watched a few newegg tutorials, but I've still never built a compute before in my life so I have a few questions I hope some people will be able to answer:

1) I see the newegg person using screws/bolts in his videos. Are those included with the PC tower/motherboard/compenents etc. or do I have to buy them? If I do, where would I acquire them and how would I know which ones to acquire.

2) The cables he is using. They are included in the PC tower case?

3) Last but not least, I would like to ask you guys if the parts I gathered up would be compatible and if you guys would have any suggestions to make.

The parts are good, I think you could go less on the motherboard unless you plan to run 2+ 6970s at some point. Also, your 1200W power supply is complete overkill. I would go max 850 if you plan to run 2 6970s some day, 600-650 if not. Thats still probably higher than you need, but I always like to go a little bigger than necessary. Something else you may want to consider is getting a smaller black drive and getting a 2TB green drive. Load your OS on the black, data on green. You seem to be going large on this build with your suggested components, maybe you want a SSD as your boot drive and a smaller black as your storage drive. Just some suggestions. You should get all the cables you need with your build. Unless you plan to watercool at some point, I'd consider going with a smaller case also.

A 2500K might be a better choice for typical gaming/everyday enthusiast usage. Also, that PSU is vastly more than you need. A good 750W unit would be perfect and allow some room for expansion.

You should end up with plenty of screws and cables.

I got four SATA data leads with my motherboard

All the screws you need do usually come with the case!

AS5 needs replacing about one a year, so I'd get something else!
Oh, and I wouldn't use that CPU cooler! You can get better air coolers!
And an 850W PSU is enough for most of us.
But yeah, from what I can see. That'll work

And I plan on overclocking to 4.5 ghz so I think the power supply is needed, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Are you serious, you need to replace the board once every year? How come you don't have to do that with retail computers? And if thats the case, which board would you suggest I get? I just picked it because it had the best reviews on ncix.com

I have read you have to pull off the cooler and clean it up and re-apply the TIM (Thermal Interface Material) at least once a year, and it may have been less than that??

I did used to use AS5. But no longer do, now I know it goes off.

The board itself does not need to be replaced yearly just the thermal compound you have chosen for the CPU cooler.

That system would easily get by with a 550 to 650 watt power supply even when overclocking the CPU and GPU. The old adage "quality over quantity" definitely applies to power supplies.

Get a 2500k and overclock it 200MHz if you need. And if you're planning to go the whole nine yards, then i guess get a waterblock for the GPU

Also you do have Win 7 64-bit right?
