Okay, so I have a new Conroe build coming up soon, because my other computer never came. I hope I get my money back and not just the $175 PayPal might give me.

Well anyways, I have a E6300 coming from Pook. I was looking at this memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590
and
I was looking at this mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131030R

At the bottom of the Mobo page it says this:
Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets.
^That's why I was a little confused

Also, has anyone else bought an Open Box mobo from NewEgg??

That statement has some truth about the ram. I have heard nice things about those boards. Just make sure the ram you get doesnt have lower than a 5 CAS rating and the rest should follow and be compatible.

As far as open box goes, I have an open box mobo in here right now and while it didnt come with hardware and such, it was cheap and it works like new. I would recommend buying open box if the normal product has no known issues or defects.

Well it is just that info at the bottom, I just wanted to make sure it was good. I am planning for a good OC with a E6300.

I bought my 630 Intel Proc from Newegg as an openbox around last december and the Proccesor works great.

The only thing with the open Box stuff though is that you can only count on recieving exactly what it says, so for instance you will probally only get the Motherboard (No books, no cords, no screws etc.)

When i recieved my Processor it still had its stock cooler with it, but someone had broken both of the legs on the heatsink and half of the thermal pad was gone.

In your case you would be saveing over 50 bucks which is pretty good for an open box on Newegg. I only saved about 30 on my proc.

My RAM booted fine on my P5B Deluxe. They booted at 1.9v and 5-5-5-15 timings even though they are 2.1v 4-4-4-12 sticks, but they do boot up, and then I changed them to 2v and 4-4-4-12 at 800 speed and they boot that way each and everytime now.

I think ASUS found a way around the limitation of the 965 chipset in that regard

I have never bought open box from Newegg, as long as they offer at least a 15-day return policy on it it wouldn't be too risky. It's open box, not refurbished, so it should still have tha standard ASUS warrenty.......
