some programs just aren't compatible with the aero mode of windows 7 and there's really nothing you can do about it right now

windows 7 and direct x 10 vs 11?
how come when i run alot of games like DDO or use my tv tuner, windows emediately greys-out the status bar, title bars, etc, i think it has something to dowith windows switching from direct x 11 to direct x 10 compatability, but im not sure. is there a solution to this, or is it just one of those things we have to deal with until the games/tuner cards/etc get updated?
