Windows 7 being, well, stupid I guess.

I was wondering a few things about my recent W7U 64 upgrade...
First being that 29 processes totaling 45MB of ram usage shows up as 70% physical mem usage. I don't have 1060MB(yes I know that my video card uses about a GB) of ram M$, I have 4GB. Why is it doing this?
Second, when I run speed tests online (you know www.speedtest.net etc). It is a lot slower than XP on the download but the upload is way off (showing maybe 20Mbit instead of what I know is only 7 or 8). Reason?
Third, not a question, but NVIDIA MAKE BETTER DRIVERS FOR WIN7.
I'm done.

Did you upgrade the OS or do a fresh install?

Fresh. Would've upgraded but it didn't work.

Yeah didn't think you could do an upgrade but had to ask anyways. Can you fill in your system specs in the user control panel so we know what hardware you're rocking? It's a big help.

1)Click "show processes from all users" then go to view->select columns and pick the additional memory related columns. Alternatively go to resource monitor under the performance tab and find out what the heck is going on.

2)Rerun the test on both OSes making sure all parameters are equal.

3)186.18

I know when it's showing which processes are active.

Don't you think I tested it about 5 times already?

No. Those don't support Win7U 64bit

odd. i did an upgrade on mine from win xp to win 7 x64 ultimate. everything works great. some of my games even look better. the ram thing is kind of odd.. i have noticed something with it as well.. i have 4gb but only show 3070MB in win.. and it uses 791MB at idle with nothing running.

not mine.. i have 4gb of ddr2, and 512mb on my vid card. but it don't show all my system ram. but it works great. i don't lag of have any issues at all. everything if faster than it was in xp and more stable.
I also noticed that when I open a game that uses 1GB+ it won't go above 75% usage. Virtual memory anyone? And readyboost, don't forget my 4GB of readyboost.

When I used W7 with 1 GB of RAM, it worked just as fast as 6 GB.
