Windows 7 install driver problem help!!!

624 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  daynee
I just built a new rig and im installing Windows 7 (its in the first step of the install) when an error message pops up:

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a usb or floppy etc driver disk please insert it now"

I'm running i7 920 build on an asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo and a RAID0 array. I'm also using a LG GH22NP20 optical drive. I'm just confused because how the F does the computer need a dvd driver if its obviously working? I even went to the LG site and downloaded the latest firmware for the optical drive but that didnt work either, and neither did any of the other driver CDs I have.

any suggestions? thx in advance

Go to the LG site here and download the drivers. Hopefully it just the drivers not an install (exe). A co-worker had the same issue with a different drive and swapped it out for another drive and worked fine.
Yeah i already did that with the drivers but it didnt work. I think i'll just have to get a new dvd drive then...
