Windows 7 needs drivers for your hard disk to continue the install. Unfortunately your sig doesn't state wich hard disk you have but i suggest you visit the hd's manufacturers site and download the drivers from there.
Hm, try to download the driver again and install it again.
I've never seen drivers for hard disks or DVD/CD drives though..

Hard drives don't have drivers. Storage controller have drivers.

Windows 7 already has the standard AMD, NVIDIA, Intel, Adaptec, LSI, etc storage drivers integrated.

I think you went to insert the drivers into the install (which you do not need to do).

I assume you are doing a clean reformat, so go to Install > Custom > select the partition you want to format > Drive Options > Delete > Next

That should just install it. Try it and get back to us.

THat only happened to me on the beta versions... Is it beta?
Could be that you have a Drive that is not supported by windows 7.

How can a drive not be supported by Windows 7? I think every drive (HDD and CD/DVD drive) will work with any operating system. Can't find any reason why a HDD should not be supported by an operating system.

Most storage drivers are integrated but in a rare occasion windows 7 refuses to recognize the hard disk, This happened when i tried to install 7 on my ancient Dell laptop. I worked around it by first installing Vista wich oddly didn't have that problem and then upgrade to 7 afterwards.

This might have been done already, but did you check to see if the SATA / IDE cables are snug? and if power is in?

Nevermind; forgot

Is this a burned .iso or orginal disk?

That's still an issue with the controller.

I had an HP laptop with "3D Drive Guard" on it, which is basically hardware that stops the drive from spinning if it senses a fall or sudden direction shift. It required me to provide drivers as I would have with a RAID array.

Your system might require similar drivers.

Ahhhh.... try reburning the .iso at lower rate. I've seen "corrupt driver" issues more than once with burned DVDs. This is even after the disk is verified.

Have you checked for loose cables?
You could try to get a new version just to see if it's Windows itself that's crappy.

EDIT: DuckieHo beat me to it.

Agreed, My point was that the missing driver error was storage device related. Sorry to the op for my bad explenation, blame it on the language barrier

To the op, you might want to install Vista first and then upgrade to 7 afterwards if possible.
