What theme are you using? The Win7 themes are more demanding than xp.

My Computer > System Settings > System Properties > Advanced Tab > Performance Settings > Adjust for best performance.

Good luck!
hmm i didnt think about that. i have aero and everything maxed out. might have to try that..lol
Tell us how it goes.
Check your clocks? Sometimes the drivers downclock randomly, the newer ones fixed that issue though. There should be no difference between XP Vista and 7 in terms of folding performance.

That's been my experience on several quads and duo's. I've tried W7 Ult -64 compared to XP Pro 32. I figure about an 11% decrease in smp production. That's running VMWare and notfreds smp client. I see no difference in gpu performance.
I tried turning Aero off and that made W7's performance even worse.

So, I've given up on W7 and will stick with XP for my smp folding.

well i went it and set it to performance and it looked like crap. so i turn it to auto and everything looks ok. i have gone up 200 points so i can deal with that i guess. i just dont feel like installing everything again because i fold when i am not home or on, and game when i am on.
