i got this laptop and i had to format it and reinstalled a windows xp that i dled and used a cd key that i fount on the laptops COA but it aint activating for some reason why ??????????????its a ligel LIGIT key<br>
the windows is :Windows XP home<br>
the cd-key is :XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX for home<br><br><br>
i aint stupid to post the real key <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick out tounge caps">

Give MS a call. The Activation window thing should give you a costumer service number to call. Call them and explain your situation. Chances are they will give you a new key.

The key has to match the install disk. If you installed from a different disk than the one originally used to set up the laptop, then the key listed on the laptop will not work. As stated above, call MS and all will be OK.
