My 3TB Seagate Barricuda suddenly stopped being recognized by the PC. I don't see it in disk management, device manager or the BIOS. The only time it gets identified is during POST and then it vanishes.

I tried swapping out the sata power/data cables with my SSD and still no luck.. This is a storage drive, so I really only want my files back. Is there a way to detect it and recover stuff?

Hey @Xvengence!

You can try the other basic troubleshooting steps - plug the drive to a different SATA port of the computer, and if the issue continues, plug it in another computer and see if it will be recognized properly.

If it shows up, then backup anything important you have to another location, but in case it's still not recognized in BIOS, then I would suggest to consult with a data recovery specialist in order to get your information back from the HDD.

Let me know if the disk appeared in your computer, and if possible upload screenshots so I can take a look.
