On my external hard drive I have a folder with many subfolders but it is only displaying about half of them. I know the others are there because if I type their names into the address bar they will show up. I have show hidden folders and system files turned on. Anyone have any ideas why this would be acting like this?

Windows limits path/Filename to 256 characters.
Shorten the directory/sub directory names. Try using 1, 2, 3, etc. for directory names and a, b, c, etc. for sub directory names.

You can print out a cheat sheet:
To see them:
Start > Run > cmd > tree/f Drive.name
To save the list to a file:
Start > Run > cmd > tree/f Drive.name > Path/File.name (ie. C:\\files.txt)
To print them Start > Run > cmd > tree/f Drive.name > PRN
But watch out, it may take many, many pages to print all the filenames.

Thanks for the response but I do not believe this is my problem because they all are easily within a 256 char limit and even when I do the tree/f drive.name it only outputs the folders up to the point that it stops showing them in the windows explorer.
