Hey guys, I know that there are a million and one possibilities especially with hardware combinations that this issue could be happening, but I figured I would take a shot in the dark and see if maybe someone has some experience in this area. No matter what version of windows I am running if I restart the computer, this includes via the start button, windows update, if a program wants to restart, whatever, the computer will act as if it will restart meaning that windows will go away but then the computer just hangs with the fans on and the disk drive light flashes infinitely until I hold the power button and restart. Everything starts up fine after and the computer will shut off just fine if I select shut down. This has been happening probably the past 3 months and the computer is about 7-8 years old. What do you guys think?
