Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\CONFIG\\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair

repairing windows is not an option

your system reg hive is corrupt... you can copy a backup/replacement to it if you have one...

if you look in C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config there will be a system.sav, rename system. to system.bak, and copy system.sav to system.

you can do this via the recovery console...

other then that, you reinstall...
