The dying pangs of a massive star may have given rise to the galaxy's most recent black hole and produced the first supernova remnant of its kind ever spotted in the Milky Way.
I found this to be pretty interesting, and this section needs more science news posted

Not to ruin the joke, but the root of the pun was that the supernova is an explosion and ejects a lot of material into space, i.e. loses mass.

Nothing escapes from beyond the event horizon of a black hole, not even light.

They can actually disappear
This, it's freaky but kinda makes sense. Don't forget that black holes are extreme physics, right at the fringe of possibilities

Check this website out for a black hole death simulation, it's mind-bending (literally!)

And yet they emit jets of radiation, thus mass doesn't just escape, it's emitted.

E = MC^2 my friend. It is not easy, but the mass transformed into some forms of radiation which does escape.

I learned a new name for dying: spaghetification. thanks Neil DeGrasse Tyson!

I wonder if anyone ever tried to paint radiation, black hole radiation. I ought to be awe inspiring.
