So it's been a while since I've needed a headset but I'm looking for a wireless gaming (w/ mic) headset. I've had the logitech g930's and a corsair vengeance wireless in the past.

My problem has always been the same, the plastic that holds the ear piece to the headset band always cracks and then the ear piece just dangles. I'm looking for a durable headset with a metal band if possible, don't wanna spend in excess of a 100 bucks only to have it crack and break a few months later. Any suggestions guys?

I'm confused. Are the Vengeance 2100's not metal?

As for the G930.. That breaking I have no doubt what-so-ever. I am on my.. I want to say 4th pair.. of G35s (Wired version of the G930) after all the previous pairs failed in the exact same place, right where the right earcup rotates. At least they always honored the warranty, even this last time where it was actually out of warranty by a couple of months.

As for other headsets? I have heard that the Steelseries H and Astro A50s are quite good, but they cost a small fortune as far as gaming headsets go, and are probably way out of your budget.

Astro: http://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-Wireless-Headset-Xbox-360/dp/B0091WIOJ2

It really is not easy to get a wireless headset that is any good on a budget.

While I may not be an expert on wireless headsets, a few headsets besides the Logitech G930 that you could check out are the SteelSeries H, the Plantronics Audio 995, Corsair Vengeance 2100 and the Logitech H800 headsets. These are all within the 100-250 dollars range and seem to be perfect for the budget that you appear to be working in. I hope I have managed to help you out with your dilemma and I hope that you find a good headset to purchase.

I just bought The SteelSeries Wireless H, I really enjoy them. I've been starting to play almost all of my Games with them.

Let me know if you have any questions about them.

Other than the cost (I actually saw these going for $250 on Amazon 2 weeks ago) I can only see one downside to them and its that I wish the volume could be a bit louder.
