more likely they will not, just to make our new 6 core toys obsolete
Well it's not going to be AM4 is it?
It's supposed to be AM3+. I don't know, it's speculation I guess. Not that it matters - we know it's a new socket that's coming for Bulldozer CPUs and that the new socket is backwards compatible with AM3 CPUs but you will need it for Bulldozer CPUs. I'm desperate for an Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard with socket AM3+/AM4 to come out!
It would be nice if they put out Triple Channel for the new socket but how much do you want to bet than Intel's rebuttal is Quad Channel?
I think at this point AMD is having and will continue to have a hard time keeping up with Intel. Unless they put out something extreme and way above current products, it will stay that way for a while. Not that I mind - I love AMD's prices for what you can get and thus I believe I will continue to buy their products.
