Won't recognise my DVD drive...

Okay, well my GPU has been out of action for a while and I've been sitting here with empire total war infront of me, reading and re-reading the manual for days. Finally, hurrah! my 9600GT finally arrives so me, as happy as a fiddle, turns on the computer with the new card, everything boots up wonderfully. Excited as a badger, I plop the disc in and alas, nothing happens. I check in my computer and nothing is there. Open up devise manager and it can see the drive (Pioneer 112D DVD-RW) but has the yellow error triangle there, saying 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'
Tried to install a new driver but failed, anyone got any tips? It wasn't working before my GPU went loco, I just didn't realise it at the time as rarely use it.

I posted this before on a different thread but it is the same issue so I am posting it again for you:

There is a problem that happens in XP and is fixable but I am not sure if this will work in Vista. What you need to do is delete the Upper and Lower filters in the registry. Here is a KB article about it from Microsoft. This may be what your problem is and it sounds like it to me. I had this issue once in XP and it came from Roxio.
