I have a card that had a cooler that snapped, the gpu itself is fine. Now... Sapphire accepted RMA request. Should I send it in wait two weeks for it to be possibly fixed or just suck it up and wait for UPS to deliver my replacement cooling solution, a accelero Xtreme on monday and ignore it.

Im going to put it on the replacement GPU anyways if I got one, I just am worried about potential resale value if I ever do sell it

I honestly cannot decide

the 7970 is plenty powerful enough for awhile and I'de imagine the next series would be a Tick rather then a tock for model lineups which wont be for awhile anyways.

I was also worried about getting a non-golden chip. I can load 1500//900 (I lowered this clock to get VRMs to cool down abit) stable 3Dmark'd at 1.35v so yeah, I just keep it and do that... but I would imagine they would just swap the HSF and Fan block and send it back. Sapphire wouldnt waste a $400 card I'de imagine.

If your temps are stable, 1.35V at such a high clock is good enough. It should hopefully get even better with a different cooling solution. I wouldn't risk a bad chip for that.

If you have a golden card, I dunno your typo on the clocks is confusing, but if you have a golden card, I would not take the risk by sending it back. You can rma it in the future. Just make sure you don't spoil anything with Sapphire, let them off easy.

Sorry my english can be very derpy sometimes. I was pretty surprised by it myself actually! I went with sapphire to begin with because I wanted a CPU HSF + GPU and It was $100 less then a Lightning

That clock wont run 3DMark properly, it eventually crashes about 5 minutes in...but 1500 is stable and pretty. (old GPUZ Validation) unless its normal for a 7970 to remain stable at 1500... then I dont have a golden card, but everyone else I know gets hit with artifacting even trying to set theirs to 1500~2000 lol.
